Professional Profile:
As a Human Resource leader and business partner in operational and staff leadership roles, Jim forms strong partnerships with managers at all levels to create and execute strategic plans. In today’s competitive markets, it is essential for all customer driven operations to deliver an exemplary service model and Jim’s background has forged this convergence within Human Resources.
Experience Highlights:
Experience in all facets of the hospitality industry. His background in high-volume, multi-faceted, global service organizations provides his foundation to understand the needs of his clients, generating innovative solutions that yield mutually beneficial outcomes.
Early in his career, Jim worked as an executive chef for hotels and restaurants throughout the northeast including Restaurant Associates, Princeton University, Intercontinental, Hilton, and Omni hotels. The majority of Jim’s hospitality Human Resources experience was with HMS Host, Airports and Motorways Division, and Aramark’s Sports and Entertainment business.
Currently, he is a fractional HR Advisor building sustainable and scalable processes for small to mid-sized multi-unit hospitality and retail businesses. He is passionate about the future of work and helping to transform the hospitality industry with a people-first mindset, one business at a time.
Education and Community:
Jim received his BS in Management and Marketing from Franklin Pierce University and fortified his operational training at the Culinary Institute of America. He earned the ACF’s Certified Executive Chef certification and has maintained his SPHR certification since 2003. He is passionate about working closely with young talent by participating on the Durham Tech Community College Culinary and Hospitality Management Advisory Board and volunteering with the Dept. of Labor Job Corps. Jim currently volunteers at the NC Museum of Art.

Jim’s consumer-centric leadership style emerged early in his career as he led new service delivery models across a multi-state motorway business. This directional focus on analytics and consumer insights was carried through the opening of the MLB NY Mets. Jim helps small to mid-sized organizations benefit from a Center of Excellence mentality while leading the organizational development to a sustainable human resources model.
